Stamford Prostate Cancer Support

Our goal is to provide peer support, information, and friendship for people affected by prostate cancer in Stamford and the surrounding area.

Our next meeting is at 6.30pm on Wednesday, 15th April 2026, at Stamford Rugby Club.

Sign the petition calling on the Government to reassess prostate cancer screening

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men, yet it has no screening programme.

We disagree with the UK NSC’s analysis of the evidence and the weight it has placed on avoiding unintended harms. We believe the Committee has fixated on potential harms that have already dramatically reduced, while underweighting the very real benefits of early detection. The analysis has not kept pace with modern practice or acknowledged how this would be an improvement on the current inefficient and inequitable system.

Targeted screening for all high-risk men should be the starting point for building a screening programme that can ultimately protect all men. Early diagnosis saves lives.

What does Stamford Prostate Cancer Support do?

We have monthly meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. The meetings are in the evening, so people who are working can make it.

At the meetings, you will meet others who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, are having treatment, or are in remission. You will meet partners who know what it's like when a loved one gets a cancer diagnosis.

Support Our Work

Your donation helps us to give that support to men and their partners by providing funds for us to operate as a community group, invest in publicity materials, and hire a meeting space each month.

Any funds that are left over will be donated to Prostate Cancer Charities.

Where can you find us?

We meet at Stamford Rugby Club, Hambleton Road, Stamford PE9 2RZ on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 6.30-8.30pm.

You don't need to book - just turn up.

Prostate Cancer Awareness

The light blue ribbon represents prostate cancer, and it is the symbol for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, which is in September. Wearing a light blue ribbon is a way to show support for those affected by the disease, raise awareness, and encourage early detection through screening.

Stamford Prostate Cancer Support Group Partners

We would like to thank the generous support of the following prostate cancer support partners.

We want this group to reflect what members actually need and value. This survey is your chance to let us know what you would like from our monthly support meetings. This survey is anonymous.
